The Two Become One

Well this was fun!! This week we explored layering a photo with a texture. This sounded easy until I started trying to to integrate one with the other! The two needed to share an affinity for the same composition and also not fight for the visual interest or fight colors. ​

I generally prefer just taking a nice photo, and not do this much editing, but I can see where this could be fun, or applied to make a photo illustration in the future.  I will open my mind and keep trying more! 

On the right is a very mundane sky turned into a much more dramatic scene with some crumbled paper. The apparent reflections next to the bike, are really a superimposed gutter and puddle photo placed over the plain concrete sidewalk.

A paint splat and a puddle in the pavement serve to highlight the walkers in the two parking lot photos.  The local library is now surrounded by one of its books.  Finally, a group of uninteresting buildings become far more interesting with textures and a "pipe moon"! (The original two photos are shown below)
