Recent Fiber Work.
I took a couple of years away from fiber art, but came back full force in August of 2025. I moved back into the McGuffey Art Center as a resident artist and am very happy to be back. The hiatus did me good and got me to really think through my art practice by starting over with a media I had not used before: Ceramics. This is an update to a piece finished in happier times. After Covid was over, and 45's term had ended, I did a piece celebrating us all together again. It was shown in a few shows, and has hung on the wall at the entrance to my studio since then,. But since the Minneapolis protests, it felt wrong. I ordered some typographic fabric, cut out four of the people and replaced them with their possible fates. here is a video showing the transformation.
