The Walk in the Park Series Influenced by my Art Residency in The Great Smoky Mountains National Park
In October of 2015, I was honored to reside within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park as the artist in residence. While there, I took about 2000 photographs, and from those photos I have created a body of art quilts that reflect the nature and beauty of the park, as well as my vision of how fiber art reflects this beauty. The pieces are stretched and mounted with gallery wrapped edges, and hardware for easy and professional presentation, but could also be taken off the stretchers and sleeved in the traditional manner.
